Australian Flying Museum

The museum wing of QVAG, the Australian Flying Museum (AFM) emerged from a meeting held in the mid 1980's. It was recognised that there was a large group of vintage aircraft enthusiasts who would never own their own vintage aircraft. It was also recognised that a very large aircraft was unlikely to be restored by a private individual, but was possible to be preserved by a museum body. It was determined that the AFM would be a 'public benefit body' in that any aircraft it owned or operated, would be on the basis, that they were owned or operated by QVAG/AFM and not by individuals.
